Supporting You with Heart and Wisdom
Birth & Postpartum Doula | Family-Centred Support

Jennifer L. Boudreau

About Me

I am a certified birth doula and trained postpartum doula based in Fredericton, New Brunswick.

I provide non-clinical support to individuals and families as they prepare for birth, move through labour, and adjust to the early postpartum period. My role is to support understanding, decision-making, and communication throughout the experience.

Before working in birth, I built a career in communications, public relations, and community service. This continues to shape my approach, particularly in clear communication, advocacy, and navigating systems of care.

I am a Status First Nations woman. My dad is from Kahnawà:ke Mohawk Territory. This informs a relational approach to care, with attention to cultural safety, lived experience, and the realities families may be navigating.

How I Work with You

I provide steady, non-clinical support grounded in clear information, practical care, and respect for your preferences.

My role is not to direct your decisions, but to help you understand your options, think through what matters to you, and feel supported as your experience unfolds.

I work with a wide range of clients, including those navigating VBAC, those who feel uncertain or overwhelmed by the system, and those who want a more grounded and supported approach to birth.

Support is adapted to each situation. Some people want detailed preparation. Others want a calm, steady presence in labour. Most need a combination of both.

Prenatal Visits

We begin by talking through your preferences, concerns, and what matters most to you.

During pregnancy, I provide ongoing support to help you understand your options, prepare for labour, and think through decisions as they arise.

This may include answering questions, reviewing information, and helping you plan in a way that reflects your circumstances.

Birthing Guidance

I provide continuous support during labour and birth.

My role is to help you stay grounded, adjust as things change, and understand what is happening in the moment.

This includes hands-on support, positioning, and support in decision-making, as well as support for your partner.

Postpartum Support

The early postpartum period is a time of adjustment.

I provide practical and emotional support as you settle in with your baby.

This may include newborn care guidance, feeding support, check-ins, and space to talk through your experience.

There is no single right way to give birth. There is only what is right for you, in your situation, at that moment. My role is to support you in understanding your options and making decisions that reflect that.

~ Jennifer Boudreau

Information is everywhere. Support is not. This work is about helping you make sense of what applies to you, and carrying that into your care.

Getting Started

If you would like to connect, you can share as much or as little as you wish. Some people choose to include:

  • how far along they are

  • whether this is their first birth

  • what kind of support they are looking for

  • whether they are considering VBAC

You do not need to have everything figured out.

I will review your message and follow up within 1–2 business days to schedule a consultation.
